Nimrekha completed her BTech degree in Science & Technology, specialising in Materials Science & Technology (2:1) from Uva Wellassa University, Sri Lanka in 2012 and obtained her MSc in the same field of materials science from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka in 2018. Her masters research particularly focused on the investigation of the potentials of surface-modified nano-fibre (Nanofibrillated cellulose) reinforced polyolefin composites in enhancing the thermal and mechanical properties. Nimrekha completed her PhD in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Glasgow in 2025, with research focused on the experimental characterisation and forming analysis of pure unidirectional stitched glass fibre non-crimp fabric. Nimrekha is currently working as a postdoctoral researcher on an EPSRC-funded project entitled “Induction Melt Incremental Thermoforming of Advanced Thermoplastic Composites".
